MOPAN Assessment of UNAIDS
Aug 2021 - Aug 2023
Under a sub-contract with Itad, UK, PDI's Simon Azariah served as the Team Leader for MOPAN Assessment of UNAIDS, for the Universalia and Itad consortium. The Multilateral Organisation Performance Assessment Network (MOPAN) was launched in 2002 as a network of like-minded donor countries for monitoring the performance of multilateral development organisations at the country level. The Network’s assessments identify strengths and areas for improvement in the multilateral organisations. Findings are used for discussions with the organisations and with their partners, and as ways to further build the organisations’ capacity to be effective. Network members also use assessment findings as a source of input for strategic decision-making about their ways of engaging with the organisations, and as an information source when undertaking individual reviews.

Progressive Development Initiative (PDI), in partnership with Health Services Academy (HSA), Pakistan, won the contract for Integrated Bio-Behavioural Surveillance's (IBBS) Round 6 in Pakistan.
PDI served as the principal technical and implementation partner in Pakistan's Integrated Biological and Behavioural Surveillance (IBBS) Round 6, the country's largest HIV surveillance exercise to date. The study covered 31 districts and included more than 106,000 interviews, over 31,000 biological tests, comprehensive mapping and population size estimation of key populations, and the first large-scale HIV surveillance among people in prisons.
